When it is all said and done, it’s really all about a person’s purpose; what does he/she need to maintain to be in better touch with the things they find of value? Where does that business need to communicate? Why is this necessary? It is similar to the purpose of attending conferences and events. Facebook has recently announced that they have created a new way for you to recover passwords. All you need is a little help from your friends. Trusted Friends allows three to five friends to have access to your account whenever you have issues logging in. It is just one more way to help users recover their passwords and is just another option to choose. It is a fairly easy way to access your account as long as you can get your friends to help you.

Google AdWords Updates Display URL Policy

Google has been making a number of changes recently to help make ad variations cleaner. The most recent update involves Google now disallowing “IP addresses in the display URL field.” Google has also made it known that this change will affect all countries and that it was made to help improve user experience.

Another recent change that has been made had to do with phone numbers being inserted directly into the text fields of ad variations. This was also recently disallowed, and, according to current Google alerts in AdWords campaigns, they are going to be enforcing this starting in July 2013.

If you have heard of Google Authorship, then you are probably familiar with the concept of AuthorRank.

Through connecting online activity to one agent, or author, Google may verify the reputable public figure and be able to better validate their content. AuthorRank is all about linking credit where credit is due. Authors, also known as Agents, are linked to their content on websites, blogs, social media, and anything in-between with their personal face icon; thus, developing themselves as a well-known brand. With the help of Google, each author’s online profile can be accredited for the work created with a running reputation score.

“AuthorRank won’t replace PageRank it’ll just make it more accurate,” highlights AJ Kohn. “AuthorRank is closely related to identity. Google needs to be certain that the relationship between author and content is valid.”

Although, Google filed the patent in 2005 entitled AgentRank, it is now finally blooming since Google Plus and Google Authorship
has picked up a following.

I have lived by this mantra my whole life, or so I thought. This past week’s experience with a new hire in the SEO department caused me to look back at what I have learned during the course of my adult life.

During this past week, our new hire brought new ways of looking at things in our SEO world. He has brought exposure to our department such as programming items that we need but overlook in our busy day-to-day tasks of staying on top of the ever changing world of SEO, the ad naseum implementation of our daily routine tasks necessary to stay ahead of the competition, and the search engine gurus who try to defeat us every day.

Facebook launched new website to replace their brand resource center

Recently, Facebook has launched a new website, Facebookbrand.com, in the wake of their recent redesign of their logo and other images. This website is much easier to navigate and provides a comprehensive list of Do’s and Don’ts so that people who use their brand logos know exactly what they can and cannot do with them. For instance, the actual Facebook logo, the one with their full name inside a blue box, is not available for licensing, but you can get special permission to use it.
