The world is creating a lot of data. Just take a look at your Facebook News Feed or Twitter feed stream. How much data is actually there? An astronomical 1.8 zettabytes has been created and replicated so far this year and is expected to double every two years.
How much data is that?
It’s enough data to fill 57.5 billion 32 GB iPads. It would cost $34.4 trillion to purchase enough iPads to store the data. That’s the GDP of the United States, Japan, China, Germany, France, the United Kingdom and Italy combined. The infographic contains a few more impressive numbers and examples of how much data we really are creating.
