Ocala, Fla. (Friday, August 20, 2010) – This afternoon, the Ocala chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association recognized member Amanda Wettstein, APR as its Pacesetter of the Year recipient. The Pacesetter of the Year award is given annually by the chapter president to a FPRA Ocala member for their outstanding commitment to improving the chapter. Wettstein is the Advertising & Public Relations Director for THAT! Company, based in Leesburg, and a leader in the Internet Marketing & Advertising industry.
This past year, Wettstein served as the Credentials Chair for the chapter and was responsible for promoting the APR (Accreditation in Public Relations) and CPRC (Certified Public Relations Counselor) credentials to chapter members. Her structured program resulted in three members of the Ocala chapter receiving their APR credentials, the most of any chapter in the state. Only 15 public relations professionals in Florida have earned their APR in the past year.
FPRA is dedicated to developing public relations practitioners, who, through ethical and standardized practices, enhance the public relations profession in Florida. FPRA is comprised of 15 professional and 11 student chapters throughout the state, providing professional development, networking, and professional recognition opportunities.
The Ocala FPRA Chapter, www.fpraocala.org , was established in 1980. The 65 members and guests meet the third Friday of each month at 11:45 a.m. at the Ocala Hilton on SR 200.
